Expatriate Formalities
Expatriate formalities are sets of permit documents to come and work in Indonesia. The permit documents are given from the Indonesian government to an expatriate based on the proposal of the sponsor company. BINUS will sponsor every expatriate who will work at BINUS and will conduct all the processes to get the permit documents needed. All the expatriate formalities are assisted by an external agent.
Some of documents that you will be familiar with that can be categories to ‘Formalities’ are:
- Visa (Social Visit (Culture) Visa, Working Visa)
- Business Visa
- Entry Permit (Single and Multiple Re-Entry Permits / ERP and MERP)
- ITAS (Ijin Tinggal Terbatas) or Limited Stay Permit
- POA (Pengawasan Orang Asing) or Immigration Control
- EPO (Exit Permit Only)
- STM (Surat Tanda Melapor)
- IMTA (Ijin Menggunakan Tenaga Kerja)
(Normally some of the documents above will be given in a form or a stamp in your passport book)
- KITAS (Kartu Izin Tinggal Terbatas) or Limited Stay Permit Card
- SKTT (Surat Keterangan Tempat Tinggal) or Temporary Residence Card for Foreigner
(The above documents will be given in a form of card)
To prepare if there is a sudden inspection from related government institution, Human CapitalDivision shall be kept and maintained all the original documents of all expatriate, except:
- Passport
- KITAS (Kartu Izin Tinggal Terbatas) or Limited Stay Permit Card
- SKTT (Surat Keterangan Tempat Tinggal) or Temporary Residence Card for Foreigner
